Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 4 July 2025 · Effective Date: 4 July 2025
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using our website or engaging our services. By contacting us, submitting a form, or leaving a watch with us for service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Definitions
- "Chanawat" / "we" / "us" / "our" — the watch repair business operating at 27 Thanon Ratchadamnoen, Sri Phum, Mueang, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand.
- "Service" — any of the three services offered: Timing Regulation & Diagnostics, Strap Fitting & Sourcing, and Appraisal & Documentation.
- "Client" / "you" — any person who uses our website or engages our services.
- "Website" — the site accessible at chanawat.world and all pages within it.
- "Agreement" — these Terms & Conditions, together with any service confirmation provided to you.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or submitting an enquiry, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement. If you are acting on behalf of another person, you represent that you have authority to do so.
Use of the website and engagement of our services is subject to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed.
3. Service Description
We offer watch repair and related services from our workshop in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our three current services are:
- Timing Regulation & Diagnostics — rate assessment and adjustment using a timing machine (฿1,850 THB)
- Strap Fitting & Sourcing — selection and fitting of a replacement strap or bracelet (฿4,200 THB)
- Appraisal & Documentation — written condition report with photographs (฿5,650 THB)
Services are provided in person at our Chiang Mai workshop. We do not offer postal or remote services. Geographic availability is therefore limited to clients who can bring their watch to our premises or arrange delivery by courier at their own risk.
4. Service Intake and Confirmation
When you leave a watch with us for service, we will record its condition and provide you with a reference. No work will begin until the scope and price have been agreed verbally or in writing. If we discover during a service that additional work may be beneficial, we will contact you before proceeding.
You are responsible for collecting your watch within 30 days of notification that it is ready. We reserve the right to charge a storage fee after this period.
5. Payment Terms
Payment is due on collection of your watch or documentation. We accept cash in Thai Baht (THB) and common bank transfer methods. Prices are inclusive of all applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
Refunds: If a service is not completed due to our error or a fault in our process, we will discuss a partial or full refund as appropriate. We do not refund for change of mind once a service has been completed.
If a diagnostic session reveals no adjustment is required, we will advise you of this at no charge.
6. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the watch when leaving it with us
- Inform us of any known fragile parts, previous repairs, or unusual features
- Collect your watch within the agreed timeframe
- Not misrepresent ownership of items left in our care
- Use this website lawfully and not attempt to damage or disrupt it
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, design, photography, and brand elements — belongs to Chanawat unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute website content without written permission.
Appraisal documents produced by us are provided for your personal use (insurance, estate purposes). You may share them with insurers or solicitors as needed. You may not resell or publish them without our consent.
8. Disclaimers
Watch repair involves inherent variables including the age, condition, and prior service history of the piece. While we take care with every service, we cannot promise specific outcomes — for example, a movement that has not been serviced in many years may require further work beyond regulation to achieve a stable rate.
Appraisal documents reflect our professional assessment at the time of inspection. They are not valuations by certified appraisers and should not be relied upon as legal evidence of market value in a commercial transaction.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, our liability for any loss or damage arising from a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss (including loss of use, emotional distress, or loss of profits). We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to a watch that was not identified on intake.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Chanawat against any claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the website, or your provision of inaccurate information about a watch or its ownership.
11. Termination
Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work has begun. Once work has started, withdrawal by the client does not entitle you to a full refund of any costs already incurred. Chanawat may refuse to carry out or complete a service if it determines that doing so would damage the watch or would be impractical.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising from these Terms or a service transaction will first be addressed informally — please contact us at [email protected] and we will make a reasonable effort to resolve the matter.
If informal resolution is not possible, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
13. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the full agreement between you and Chanawat for the subject matter herein.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to do so in the future.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms to another party without our written consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our website or services after changes constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.
